This week’s post is written by Ron Meyer, a fellow life coach and friend. He shares his wisdom on how to continue creating personal connections with one another during this frustrating time of social distancing. I hope his experience will provide you with a new way to approach this challenging time we are living in.

This social distancing, no hand shaking and no hugging STINKS!

One of my concerns is the short and longer term effects if we as a society don’t go back to hugs and handshakes. It’s part of our needs as humans to have connection and physical touch.

When I was catching up with Lisa recently of course Covid-19 came up, and a thought came to me: What if there was something to subsidize this physical connection that we are missing out on? What if we learn to connect energetically? When I say energetically, I am referring to, as Albert Einstein reported, the fact that we are vibrating energy. We give off both positive and negative energy. Have you ever heard of the expression “the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife”? Or have you ever walked into a situation and could feel that something was different? That’s what I’m referring to. This subtle energy field has been known by people who do energy healing and many indigenous people and now it is being measured in laboratories.

The website The Spiritual Eclectic describes an energetic connection as “simply a bond or link between two people, even people who have never met in the flesh. Once that link is established, it is not easily broken.” For all of those doubters, (I was one of them) I know it’s difficult to buy into something like this because we can’t see it. Well, we all believe in things we can’t see. We believe in the wind, but we can’t see it. We can see things being blown by the wind, but we can’t see the wind itself. We have all used Bluetooth or listened to the radio. We can’t see those waves, but we believe in them. So allow yourself to accept that there is some energy that we can’t see, but it is there.

Since we all have this energy, what if we learn to connect with each other’s energy?

What if we could create long-lasting relationships by connecting with one another's positive energy? What might we learn about teamwork, collaboration, friendship, and love? #SocialDistancing #COVID #EnergeticConnection Click To Tweet

We need to be more socially distant right now, and that stinks, but this may be the perfect time to expand our horizons and learn a new way to connect. Here’s the best part: not only can this help us in the short term during this pandemic, but when we are able to get back together those connections can be even more meaningful when we connect physically and energetically. As I stated earlier, this idea came to me just recently so I’m no expert in this field of energetic connections yet, but what I do know is there is a process we can use to prepare ourselves so that we can learn and implement this new learning quicker and easier.

Three Steps to Creating Energetic Connections

I recall listening to Gabby Bernstein on Oprah talking about three steps to spiritual growth. I believe these steps can be implemented into any growth process. The first step is to BE WILLING. Be willing to do more, learn more and, the one that was toughest for me, be willing to see things differently. Being willing is like opening up the flood gates where “coincidences” will start happening and the things or people we need will present themselves. When it comes to this energetic connection, some of the “learning more” may be learning what junk we have in the way so that we can clear a path to learn something different. It may require us to think differently about this concept of energetically connecting. When it comes to connecting with some people, it may require us to use one of the most powerful tools we have in any relationship—forgiveness—so that we can clear the path for connection. I have witnessed this clearing of a path of connection between two people. The one person had no clue the other one was doing any of this type of work. I know it may sound crazy, but it is real and it is amazing! Be willing to accept the fact that we are capable of tapping into a deeper level of connection.

The second step is to PAY ATTENTION. Pay attention to the opportunities, the teachers and the assignments. As we start looking for more information on how to connect energetically, be on the look out for information or people that will support us on this journey. What a coincidence it was that a couple of weeks after I decided to write this blog post, my teacher was revealed to me. It had to do with connecting with people energetically! I couldn’t believe it. My daughter was struggling with something and I wasn’t sure how to help her. Then it dawned on me that my personal trainer had shared a similar experience with his wife as she was negotiating a work contract about a month ago. I realized he was the teacher I needed in that moment and that brings us to the third step.

The third step is to DO SOMETHING. Do something when, not if, the opportunities, assignments, and teachers present themselves. When I realized his wife’s situation, which was helped by energetic connection work, was very similar to my daughter’s situation, I did something—I called him. And surprise, surprise! My daughter’s situation was helped by doing some work on connecting energetically. Now I have a resource to learn more about how to connect energetically. This third step of doing something may present itself in a variety of ways. It may be as simple as checking out a webinar or a book or whatever information or person shows up for you. Your teacher may even be someone you least suspect. Seek and you will find.

Imagine how this ability to connect energetically to someone can help you in all your relationships—work, family, socially—even the relationships that are divided due to differences in religious, political, or social beliefs. Imagine having a deeper level of connection with your spouse or children right now. Imagine the peace that will come from knowing you are able to connect with anybody and everybody.

What this pandemic may unfold for us through the pain of distancing is a great opportunity to subsidize physical contact in the short term and to enhance our relationships for the rest of our lives. Life is about relationships, so let’s take them to the next level.

Stay connected!
