How did you do with last week’s challenge to think about where you want more space in your life? I hope you had the chance to really consciously think about where you want to add some quiet, reflective time in your day.
My second challenge to you is to take one half-hour walk a week without another person, without your phone, and without your headset. Yes. Walk completely alone with nothing in your ears and nothing to steal your energy away from just taking space with yourself as you walk.
Walking outside is best, but if you can’t do that, the treadmill will suffice. If you can’t walk outside or on a treadmill, walk in place. If you are differently-abled and walking isn’t possible for you, what’s a physical activity you could do that will allow you to practice presence and taking space? Bottom line, move in whatever way works for you!
Make space for creative thought by practicing presence. Minimize distractions and focus on moving your body. Join me for the July “Making Space” Challenge, Week 2. #creativity #presence #mindfulness Click To TweetStay fully present with yourself and your surroundings as you engage your body. If you feel yourself getting distracted, just notice it. Don’t judge it in any way. See what comes up in your mind and don’t monitor it. See what creative thoughts come up for you, what new ideas you have, and theories you uncover. If you’d like, write those down when you finish your physical activity. See how you feel for the rest of the day after you give yourself some space.
Stay tuned for Challenge #3 next week!
Love,
