I’ve noticed an interesting phenomenon in my work with women. Almost every woman I meet is sure that other women have more going for them and more confidence than they do. They are also shocked when they find out that other women struggle with confidence when they seem to have it all together. “How could she not be confident? It just doesn’t make sense!” Yet, the truth is that most of us have periodic crises in confidence.
We all have work to do on believing in ourselves and showing up with confidence. #success #motivation Click To TweetWhat is the origin of this confidence crisis? It’s almost always a really bad story that we are telling ourselves about why we aren’t good enough and why someone else is better. Why have so many of us grown up to believe we should be constantly comparing ourselves to others and constantly coming up short? Do men do the same thing and we just don’t notice it or are they better at hiding it?
Here it is ladies!
We all have work to do on believing in ourselves and showing up with confidence, both internally and externally. We need to rewrite that old story that has us looking around in order to prove ourselves unworthy. Instead we need to focus internally and building our strengths. My work with Catherine Johns has helped Catherine and myself and the women who join us do just that. We lead women into feelings of confidence and behaviors that show confidence. It has been such a fulfilling journey for me and I’m looking forward to doing it again next week. Won’t you join us for our “Free Your Voice to Have more Impact and Authority” event?
