So many people are talking about the lessons they’ve learned from COVID. They value family more, want to work less, find more balance in life, feel grateful more frequently, and really live life to the fullest as soon as possible. I’m with all of that, and yet the sceptic in me wonders how we will all remember to live these lessons and avoid going back to our old ways as soon as we rip those masks off.
Permanent behavioral and emotional changes are not always easy to achieve. We have habits, comfort zones, ways that we’ve always done things. Even if we don’t love those habits, we know them. Stepping out of our comfort zones and away from our habits can be scary and uncomfortable and maybe that’s the greatest lesson that COVID can give us. Most of us didn’t like social distancing or wearing masks or quarantining, and yet we managed. We found our way, even if we were sad and scared and overwhelmed. We pivoted, we changed, and many of us actually thrived through this trying time.
If you were able to thrive through COVID, you can take on the world! You are resilient, strong, flexible, and ultimately someone who can find the good in almost any situation. How will you use all of that fantasticness post-COVID? What have you always wanted to do, but didn’t think you had the guts to do it? You just proved that you do have the guts, so why not go do it right now? COVID showed us that life is fragile and short and complicated. So why would we wait to do anything that we really want to do?
COVID revealed that we are resilient, strong, and flexible, and that life is fragile, short, and complicated. So why would we wait to do what we really want now that we have our COVID superpowers? #Covid #resilience #courage Click To TweetCOVID proved that we are a resilient species and that we adapt when we need to. Most of us found joy, fun, gratitude, community and love despite the strain of COVID. We found new hobbies, new insights, new challenges and ultimately, we found hope. All of those things you learned are coming with you as COVID ends. Those things are actually you and your strengths and your gifts. Hope is your super power and so is adaptability and resilience. Don’t give those habits up as you plan your post-COVID life. Bring those with you and take on the world! What are you waiting for?
